General review on various popular music styles where the strings play a significant role. European folklore, American musics (tango, salsa, boleros.etc) and modern trends (blues, rock, swing, funk)

  • The stringed instrument as a rhythmic element:
    • Patterns and exercises to become a rhythmic element or base.Review of traditional rhythms and patterns that allow us to have greater ease and rhythmic knowledge to apply to different music we play.
    • Introduction to Chop, our revolutionary technique to convert our instrument to something percussive.
    •  Introduction to improvisation. First steps to do more than reading the score.
    • The modern popular music: blues, rock, funk. A fun way to transform our instrument in another.
    •  Sample of unusual instruments: Trumpet violin, phonoviolin, scarf violin , rebec, ukelin, water violin, harps, saw, etc..

(Course for medium levels of violin, viola and cello.)
