ECO is the encounter between classical and jazz. A string orchestra accompanied by a modern rhythm section that fuses musical tones of different areas. ECO is tradition and innovation, an ensemble that plays an eclectic repertoire , finding a personal and genuine character .
The Eclectic Colour Orchestra mixes original compositions with known Standard versions of contemporary music. It is presented as a String Big Band , which takes over from the jazz- anticThird Stream with current and funk sounds of Latin music. His album Blank Canvas (time Record 2013 ) combines a wide palette of colors to be presented as a unit . The sweetness of the strings is at the service of syncopated rhythms , and lyricism stands as the main channel to seduce the listener . The different orchestral textures bring closer the swing of the decade of the 30 to the French Impressionism of Debussy or Ravel.
ECO has collaborated on the album Rise ( Harmonia Mundi 2012 ) of the trumpeter . It has also composed the soundtrack to events such as the celebration of the IAAF , International Association of Athletics Federations , and has appeared on programs such as Buenafuente (2010 ) or TV3 Marathon (2011 ) .
The power of the orchestra is at the service of the open harmonies of jazz to result in an aesthetic language of its own, able to tackle any artistic challenge in a versatile way.
